Per g Fluocinonide 0.5 mg, neomycin 5 mg, gramicidin 0.25 mg, nystatin 100,000 IU
Indications/Uses
Cutaneous or skin infections caused by organisms sensitive to the antibiotic & antimycotic ingredients & when the anti-inflammatory &/or anti-allergic action of fluocinonide is indicated, as in: Burns, wounds & skin graft; otitis externa; post-surgical procedures; other dermatologic conditions; atopic contact, stasis & infectious eczematoid dermatitis; neurodermatitis; eczema; anogenital pruritus. Adjunct in certain pyodermas eg, impetigo, during specific antibiotic therapy for these infections.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply small amount lightly to the affected skin bid-tid w/ gentle but thorough massage. Decrease gradually as condition is under control.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Avoid prolonged use or use of large amounts. In the presence of infection, discontinue use until adequately controlled. Overgrowth of non-susceptible & resistant organisms. Atrophy of the skin. Not for ophth use. Lesions close to the eye. Do not use under occlusive dressing. Reduce dose or discontinue gradually if hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis suppression is noted. Pregnancy (especially 1st trimester). Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Dryness, itching, burning, local irritation, striae, skin atrophy, telangiectasia, hypertrichosis, hypopigmentation, miliaria & secondary infection. Adrenal suppression. Ototoxicity & nephrotoxicity. Hypersensitivity. Allergic cross-reactions.
